The Sissy Test

Since I'm currently not working, I have a tendency to stay up till about 2 or 3am. I blame the awesome late night movies that are on, Pet Sematary, Terminator, Predator; they all come on at about midnight and keep me captivated till the wee hours of the morning. Which usually isn't that bad when I am able to sleep in until about noon. Well this morning the neighbors decided to start remodeling at around 8am. So I didn't get my average 9 hours of sleep, and boy did I noticed the loss about half way through my workout. I'm not trying to make any excuses, I just want to acknowledge how the lack of sleep can have a tremendous impact on the amount of fatigue felt during a workout. That said; the WOD today was pretty brutal.

Warm Up:
pass through x10
hip mobility x2
leg swings 10ea
200m run
wall balls x10
push ups x10
sit ups x10

WOD: The Sissy Test
KB swings - 20...1
Burpees - 1...20
so the workout went like this
20 KB swings -1 Burpee and so on down the list....
19-2
18-3
17-4
16-5
15-6
14-7
13-8
12-9
11-10
10-11
9-12
8-13
7-14
6-15
5-16
4-17
3-17
2-19
1-20
That's 210 KB swings and 210 Burpees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The prescribed weight for women is 32#, but I scaled down to 26#.
My time: 45:20
A girl in the AM class finished in 22 minutes! When doing the workout I looked at the clock at 22 minutes; and I wasn't even done with the first half of the rounds.

A trick: Counting down the reps, for some reason its easier to hear the numbers get smaller. I also tried not to put the kettle bell down between swings and attempted to keep a rhythm of 5 burpees before resting.

After the WOD I got Lindsay and Steve to pose for a picture! YAY! These two are GREAT! They are very supportive and help inspire me to achieve my goals! If anyone reading this is contemplating joining CrossFit CostaMesa these two are reason enough! ..in addition to all the other wonderful staff and gym members..

Time for a hot/cold shower and some sushi!!
