I am not grabbing him there..!!

I arrived at the gym feeling emotionally defeated because of some relationshit drama; however, I knew if there was anything that could change that it would be a gnarly WOD.

The warm up started with the basics and the new jump rope drills. Then Jake told us to grab a partner and line up at the thunder dome for a pull-up drill. We had to do two pull ups then have our partner grab our legs and pull us down while we attempted to hold ourselves up, I think Jake called it a 'negative' pull up. Well the guys were on the high side of the thunder dome, so when they were in the up position of their pull up their junk was aligned with their partners grip position. Needless to say there were some hilarious comments. "Oh, just grab his wiener.." followed by "uh, NO I'm not grabbing him there" LOL.  The best was when Greenly jumped up and grabbed his partner and pretty much hung from his waste and yanked him off the thunder dome. I heard someone's shorts almost got pulled off too, but I was doing my 200m run and missed it. Then we all migrated over to the mats and completed the plank complex. There's nothing like a good warm up to get you hot and sweaty before the WOD even begins.

WOD:
Karen
150 wall balls @14#
my time 15:54
There were quite a few reps that I didn't get all the way down on my squat. Jake did a great job at keeping me in check and yelling at me 'all the way down!' 'get your butt on that ball'. I was the last to finish the WOD, but with Liz and Jake's support I powered through. Thanks guys!

After the WOD I spent some time on my kipping pull-ups. Yes ladies and gentlemen I did it! I FINALLY was able to do a pull up with no assistance from the bands!! Once Chris noticed I pulled it off, he ran and grabbed his camera and made me do about 15 more so he could get a picture!  He posted it on the Crossfit CostaMesa website for a lil shout out! Thanks Chris!
