deadlift torture

I woke up Tuesday morning at about 11am feeling exhausted. Usually when I sleep in that late I bounce right out of bed and kick the day in the face, but not Tuesday. I got out of bed and relocated to the couch. I had a ton of stuff planned for the day, but couldn't snap out of my sleepiness. So I just napped all day. By the time 4:30 rolled around I was still extremely tired, and decided to take a day off crossfit. Well that and the Celtics Heat game was on. I'm a crazy NBA fan so there are day's basketball takes priority. I was told by an ex once that I care more about basketball then him. This being said during the playoffs between the Celtics and Lakers. I couldn't lie, the rematch of the century was more important.

This morning I woke up feeling rested and ready to rock and roll! I took snoop for a walk and then made myself a phenomenal turkey and bacon sandwich. Bristol Farms has this herb roasted turkey breast that is nitrate and preservative free. It's so fresh and natural, its thanksgiving style turkey breast sliced thin like cold cuts. It's a little pricey $11.99 a pound, but worth every penny. I HATE the traditional turkey lunch meat. I mixed 2 packs of Emergen-c and a capsule of echinacea in my bottle water with lunch. I heard there are a few people with sore throats at the gym and I want to avoid that at all costs.

Barbell warm-up:
deadlift drills at 1-4 position...it hurt...

WOD:
5 rounds of 2 reps:
deadlift 90% @107#
4 rounds for time:
deadlift x10 @53#
wall balls x15
250m row
my time: 12:29

I stuck around after the WOD with the intention to practice my kipping pull-ups. I wanted to give my body a little time to recover from the workout, so I sat back and watched the 6pm class and visited with everyone. I've been having an odd pain in my left shoulder. It started as a sharp pain during certain movements, and transformed into a consistent sharp pain after working out. I mentioned it to Steve, and he pulled out some textbooks and got to work applying strong pressure to a few spots and relieved some tension and pain. He recommended that I ice it three times a day and take Aleve. I'm glad Steve knows because I'm the type of person who refuses to go to the doctor unless I'm near death.
After the short physical therapy session with Steve I got a few kipping pull-ups in and headed home.
Tonight's dinner: Coconut fried chicken with steamed broccoli and a baked yam.
