day 6: getting stronger

I received an email today from Kristan, the NEW operations manager at CFCM, confirming my attendance to Thursdays graduation workout. Not going to lie, the words 'almost legendary' kind of scared me. Then when I saw the big grin on Alec's face when trying to convince us it will be 'fun' made me realize it will be anything but fun! His interpenetration of fun is vastly different from mine.

Warm up:
200 meter run
10 air squats
10 front squats
10 overhead squats
Hip mobility
Shoulder mobility

Drills:
Cleans
Sumo Dead Lift High Pulls
Jerks
..and I think a few others, but all I can remember is "ass out, elbows up, feet closer"..
Then Alec showed us the fundamentals of a kipping pull up, while reminiscing of his break-dancing days. Which was right about the point when Steve chimed in and said he was fired from on-board instructing. LOL! After we all looked like a bunch of fools on the mat trying our best Ninja kipping moves, we relocated to the thunder dome for some bar practice. yeah..it's going to take me a little while to master those..

WOD:
15/10/5
200 meter run with 20lb weight vest
Knees to Elbows
Box Jumps
..in between each round of KE and Box Jumps we had to run 200 meters with the vest..
I finished in 10:09
I think what is holding me back is my diet. Yesterdays pizza dipped in ranch dressing with sweet iced tea and Monday's frozen yogurt are probably not the best fuel for my body. I made a trip over to Henry's today and got some chicken and steak. Now I just need to get motivated to cook.

I took a few picts of Alec while he explained why none of the trainers are on the Fire Breather board.. hehehehehe...

Tonight's Dinner:
Filet with grilled onions, a sweet potato sliced and baked, and green beans.

Time for my late night walk on the beach with snoop, followed by an Epsom salt bath.
